ADONIS 5000 is a very charged book. Arlissa and Segrin shoot sparks off of one another. I enjoyed that Arlissa, even in danger, wants to take care of herself and not be dependent on Segrin. Ms. Vremont has a witty writing style that will please the reader.

These two authors have done it again, presented two wonderful stories that make Halloween about more than just trick or treating, but about yummy paranormal love.

Because of the fact that this was a short story, the pace was understandably fast. I found myself lost on whose story I was reading. I know Astrid was transported into a Marduke priestess, but I didn't read anymore mention of Astrid's character within the priestess. The ideas of a jealous priestess plotting against another priestess, plus the potential love match between the priestess and Assyrian warrior, were great ideas. The priestess being taken captive by the warrior is always a good way to start a love affair, but it adds the spice of the warrior seducing the priestess and earning her trust. Great potential!

Ms. Ladd is a prolific author whose books are sure to bring a smile or a tear to your face. Come journey with Luke and Chloe down the rocky road of love in BLESSED BE, and get hooked on the writing of Ashley Ladd, as I have.

The order and structure that make up her life help her get through her days and to forget about her loneliness. Her days have a regular routine to them that gets broken up one Thursday afternoon as she forgoes her walk in the park and ventures into a little antique store. It's in this little store that she finds an exquisite piece of jewelry that soon has her feeling a little different and experiencing the most erotic dreams featuring a mysterious man who enjoys dominating her.

One day at work, a man comes in looking for a loan for a bondage club. Dorothy is flustered as she realizes that Mike Rose looks a lot like the mystery man in her dreams. When her dream man comes to her later that night he lets her know that the cameo is helping the "real" Dorothy to come out. She's not sure that she's ready for all of the changes that the cameo is bringing about, but she can't help her excitement for the feelings that are being stirred up.

This was a good quick read with some very titillating scenes and I found J.W. McKenna's writing style to be very captivating. There is some language and subject matter that might be offensive to some readers. But all in all, I thought that the story was well done and I look forward to reading or more of Ms. McKenna's work.

She doesn't plan on falling for the sexy rancher Hawk Downs who owns the property alongside her uncle. But two weeks in his arms is enough to make all her good intentions go out the window.

I loved the description and the detail the author included in this story. The love scenes were no-holds-barred hold-onto-your-seats. Hawk and Cassie were explosive together from the start. It was not your average romance. They didn't take the time to fully get to know each other before falling in bed. That in itself was a huge dose of reality. Not many people do this, so to me it rang true and didn't seem as fanciful as a get to know you period. Especially since Cassie would only be in Texas for two weeks. I loved how once Hawk thought of it, he realized Cassie was the one for him. He didn't try and fight his feelings even though he'd only known her for two weeks. There was more to the story than just hot and intense love scenes. The underlying story with Cassie's uncle and his property was a nice touch. I found myself yelling at the computer screen demanding that either Hawk come clean or Cassie demand the truth. The author did an excellent job building the anticipation on how the truth would come out, as well as would Cassie want to be with him when it finally did.

TRUST IN THE SEASON by Mandy M. Roth

But once again, Victoria is staying late at the office; this time to help bring in the party supplies for the scheduled Christmas party. Never mind that she is way behind on her Christmas shopping

Philip Ruth had thought that it would be easy, just deliver the tree and supplies to the boardroom. Instead, he's told that the tree needs to go up to the top floor, and instead of the helper that he expected he is treated with Victoria. After some misadventure with the tree the two of them find themselves wrapped in an embrace, and neither one is trying very hard to get out of it. After his breakup with his fiancé five months ago, Philip was not expecting to find himself attracted to anyone so quickly. He can't help but be a little cautious though after his experience with his fiancé. He finds himself allowing Victoria's misconceptions about him being just a delivery guy continue, and hoping that her love for him will help her overcome any anger at him keeping quiet about himself.

TRUST IN THE SEASON packed a lot of story into such a short format and Mandy M. Roth did a great job with it. It was a good quick read complete with good sex scenes, some action and of course, love at first sight.

THE CHRISTMAS CURSE by Michelle M. Pillow

Megan Sinclair hates Christmas. Beginning at age four, Christmas has brought her nothing but bad memories and since being on her own, she has vowed not to celebrate Christmas. This year she took a chance at her boyfriend's urging and accepted her mother's invite to come home and celebrate Christmas, and then Sean breaks up with her. Now Megan is expecting the curse to continue wreaking havoc on her for the rest of the holiday.

Sean has been away on business and is surprised when he finds that Megan has gone home for the holidays without him. He doesn't understand why she's gone ahead without him, but he's determined to track her down there and help her realize that she's not cursed. When he finally catches up with her he does not understand the resentment in her glare, or why she thinks that he broke up with her and it doesn't look like she's going to give him a chance to get things sorted out anytime soon.

THE CHRISTMAS CURSE was an enjoyable read. I really liked Michelle M. Pillow's use of humor in the story and how well developed her characters were for such a short story.

I really enjoyed the writing styles of both authors in CHRISTMAS and thought it was a good pairing of stories. I also enjoyed the fact that even with a shorter format, both authors were able to draw and maintain my interest in their characters. I think that this duet is a good one to keep on the shelf for pre-Christmas reading to help get the reader in the mood, for Christmas and perhaps other things.

If Jakarta does not agree to marry him this Christmas, Teague will have to let her go.

This is a wonderful holiday romance. Ms. Tunstall shows how important trust is in any relationship. Jakarta has been hurt in the past and is unwilling to put that behind her. The background of the holidays show just how special their relationship is. The author has a remarkable sense of dialogue that will keep the reader's attention.

In medias res is a Latin phrase meaning in or into the middle of a sequence of events, as in a literary narrative. Many authors are using this technique, as it gets readers involved quickly. April Reid uses it with some skill, and then fills in enough back-story to create engaging characters that the reader roots for from beginning to end.

In the opening scene, Alyssa stands on an auction platform, clad in a slave tunic and bound by chains that have rubbed her skin raw. Within the first few paragraphs, the reader learns that Alyssa has powers that set her apart from the rest of humanity. After watching a companion sold to a brothel, Alyssa is purchased by Rahim Yasir Al Sayyed, Sultan of Aradi, a mystery man who doesn't seem to want a slave. Alyssa is relieved to avoid the same fate as her companions, but she is unsure of Rahim's true reasons for buying her.

Alyssa doesn't tell her new owner about her abilities or her true lineage, just as Rahim doesn't tell his captive his full name or his plans for her. Instead, as the pair journey to fulfill a promise which Rahim made before he became her owner, they also embark upon a voyage of discovery of each other.

Although this storyline is hardly novel, the author seldom relies on the stereotypical characters and plot devices associated with the genre. Instead, Ms. Reid is a talented writer who spins a suspenseful yarn. Indeed, there are enough realistic and sensual scenes to justify classifying the story as an erotic romance, but the plot and character development never takes a backseat to those scenes. DARK PASSION is a rollicking good story, which just happens to be erotic as well. Enjoy!

Michelle Pillow's Dragon Lords series is my favorite futuristic romance series to date. THE DARK PRINCE is the third book of this wonderful series, which seems to get better with each installment. Olena is an absolute hellion and she is my favorite heroine from the series. Yusef exuded a sexiness that made me want to jump into the story with him, especially when Olena wouldn't admit her true feelings for him. Again, the continuity throughout the series is preserved as we learn about the events of the other books from a different perspective.

Michelle Pillow has a talent for three-dimensional characters and passionate, steamy sex scenes and THE DARK PRINCE certainly continues the standard. THE WARRIOR PRINCE is the final installment in the Dragon Lords series and I am anxiously awaiting its release.

Flint nurses her through her illness and soon after they reach the fort, she is back to her old self physically. But Joleen has nothing left from her old life except a tight pair of jeans that no one wants her to wear and her now useless car keys. Also, Joleen's reputation has been ruined by her lengthy adventure alone with Flint, for the morals and mores of the eighteenth century are not the same as those of the twenty-first.

A quick marriage to Flint saves Joleen from being labeled a harlot or sold as a mail order bride. Joleen's grandfather once taught her a great deal about living in the mountains, so she continues to be an asset to Flint, who serves as a scout for the troops at the fort. As they travel together, Joleen falls in love with her new husband, a man who seems as hard as his name, but she isn't quite sure if he feels the same about her, even if he does call her Darlin'.

This nifty little paranormal romance has an engaging main character and an unusual backdrop-- the French and Indian War. Some of the characters are stereotypical and the plot devices are often exactly what one might expect, but DARLIN' isn't a rehash of something that was on cable TV last week. Also refreshing is the attention to character development and plot along with the love scenes.

This tale opens with Gyrr Thrane, Prince of Glacid, Lord Commander of the Outer Regiment, taking on a bit of a disguise as he prepares to go undercover to help quell rebellion in the Federation which his family rules and which he has sworn to serve and protect. His cover has him traveling from the trading center at Praxis to Zeon to begin his service as an indentured sex consort to the Portmaster, who is an ally of his father. Only she will know his true reason for being on Zeon.

Freighter captain Ria Torr and her medical officer are in a bar on Praxis where she notices the disguised Gyrr, who travels under the name of Aden Conr. Ria and Aden have a pleasantly sensual encounter, but as he walks her to her ship's berth on the station, they are attacked by murderous Veks and Aden takes three poisoned darts. In order to save his life and herself from legal complications which might delay her journey, Ria manages to get Aden on board. Her all female crew is alternately fascinated by the handsome Aden and jealous that the captain wants him all for herself once he recovers from the attack.

The rebel forces that Gyrr/Aden must thwart have been at work on Ria's ship and there are numerous complications and many sensual scenes as well. During their journey, Gyrr realizes that this lovely captain, with a questionable past and an uncertain future, is the lifemate he's been waiting for. Ria, however, will take some convincing, because her past haunts her present and she doesn't feel that she can become anyone's lifemate-- even if she loves him as dearly as she loves Gyrr.

Although this futuristic romance relies on stereotypical locations and situations and minor characters, the lead characters are sufficiently engaging to hold a reader's interest. Murderous aliens, a hero fighting insurgent rebels, and a rowdy bar at a space station are hardly innovative elements in the space opera genre. However, DEEP HEAT has some really hot, hot scenes, and enough suspense to make it an entertaining way to spend an evening.

I wasn’t able to really get a feel for the characters and the reasons behind their actions and feelings. Also, for a story that is supposed to be set in another time period, the way the characters act in the beginning makes it seem more modern then what I believe the author was going for. Despite the minor problems with this tale, it was an enjoyable way to spend an hour and I look forward to read more from Ms. Regentin.

I can say that I found it a bit disconcerting when the scenes would jump from sex to something from Ulysses past. These occurrences made it difficult to enjoy the story on a whole.

I can say that the subject matter is new and quite intriguing. I look forward to reading more in the ULYSSES series.

The mating, and the timing of it is critical, but Djinni is no fool. She’s smart, psychic, and not even certain of her abductor’s identity. So, Tigger is forced to try a number of other ways to win her over.

Tigger is innocently confused, and rather cute, as to why she doesn’t want to mate with him. He gets a lot of advice on courting, and the humor escalates slightly, because Djinni has every intention of escaping, no matter how hard he tries. But, while Djinni is working on plan after plan on getting away, she stops and thinks from time to time how virile this man is, how big and tall and sexy he is, but she fights anyway. But, the six foot Djinni can’t help but be so attracted to a man at least a foot taller than, she, especially when he refers to her in terms similar to dainty or tiny – something this warrior has never expected to hear.

One thing readers will notice from the very beginning are the terms relating to chess, as in the title itself - FORCED MATE, and other similar phrases. I like this particular aspect of the book because we see the intelligence of the two protagonists, as well as strong supporting characters where the challenges continue to mount, while Tigger is forced to learn the right way to get to Djinni – and that way is to get to her heart. Does he succeed? Well, that’s for the reader to find out!

Kudos for Ms. Cherry. She writes an unusual love story in FORCED MATE, because Tigger defies his reputation and wants his marriage, life and wife to be happy. The journey is long, and as mentioned, full of challenges, but the reward is well worth it. Call it science fiction. Call it futuristic. But, definitely call it a romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author, no matter what sub-genre she chooses to write. Her sense of humor, and creativity and imagination, provides readers with an enjoyable read

With plenty of magic being thrown around, this was an interesting read. I enjoyed the interplay between Gabe and Abby throughout the story and also that this wasn’t your straightforward story of good vs. evil but has the reader wondering about the classifications of good and evil.

HERE GOES THE BRIDE is a novel story concept, but hardly novel in length. However, Cynthia and Dylan's little adventure is likable, if a bit offbeat. Readers ready to stretch the imagination will enjoy this erotic romance.

While an interesting story, the ease in which Sara accepts sexual side of Michael and Drew's is too easy. Because of that, it just didn't feel totally believable to me. But if you like your erotica hot, you should read HOME FOR CHRISTMAS.

Camille Anthony tells a different tale in each of the three installments. This is more of a romantic, though quite explicit tale than the previous two. Willa and Brant have retaken center stage. The plot of the tale, outside of the sexual exploits, seems to be advancing very slowly. In summary, the series doesn't seem to live up to the promise of the first installment.

He is further disgusted to see that fans have lined up for her book signing in the Mall of America. He decides that he has had enough of his ancestors being described as brutal rapists and, forms an anti-defamation league. On behalf of Viking-Americans, he files suit against Rose Jacobson's publisher.

Rose Jacobson is angry when she hears from her publisher. She and her editor did meticulous research prior to publishing the books. As a history teacher, it is very important to her that her books are accurate in historical detail. So, she wants to fight the suit. But her publisher is a small, new company, and they would be wiped out by a drawn out legal challenge. The suggestion is to change the title of the latest book to defuse some of the anger. Rose is very resistant to that suggestion and lists off some more politically correct titles such as "Equal to Olaf".

While throwing a Neo-Nazi out of the shop, Kurt bumps into a Viking rune stone, and suddenly he is filled with rage and aggression. From then on, every time he touches it, he is more affected by it. When Rose comes to ask him to reconsider his lawsuit, they end up having sex on the sofa of the shop while Ingrid sings opera. Ingrid finds that she too is overcome by the rune stone. When a fellow Viking-American dies, Kurt and Ingrid go to the funeral and create a huge scene, including a near rape of Ingrid by the reverend performing the service. Ingrid again is singing opera arias, and several members of the congregation cheer the opportunity to celebrate the dead man as a Viking warrior heading to Valhalla. The widow, in particular, states she doesn't think he's headed to the Christian heaven. Finally, with all the accumulated evidence that Vikings are sexually aggressive, the case is dismissed.

This book had moments that made me laugh out loud. The author's tongue-in-cheek style had me reading on to find out what would happen next. I enjoyed it a lot; perhaps because it was so improbable that it was just a fun fantasy. I plan to continue reading novels by this author. Readers who haven't yet had the pleasure of reading books by Jackie Rose are in for a treat.

Getting characters together quickly, especially with lots of sensual sexual activity, often requires a bit of machination by an author. Thompson skillfully creates such a scenario in JEWEL THIEF. The beautiful Elena is the title character and as the story opens, she is attending a party at the home of the rich and powerfully attractive John "Jack" London.

After casing the residence, Elena returns, dressed for work in a black turtleneck and dark trousers, but instead of the expected quick procedure to open London's safe, she winds up on the wrong side of his gun, for he interrupts her attempt to steal his valuables. As he holds her at gunpoint, London explains his predilection for sexual dominance and offers her a choice-- either he calls the police or she spends a week as his sex slave. Quickly doing the math, Elena decides that one-week is a shorter sentence than any that would be handed down by the courts and thus agrees to the arrangement.

The plot of this story moves rapidly, but never seems contrived or rushed. Instead, Thompson uses the brief time frame to accelerate, bringing her characters together both sexually and emotionally. At first, Elena sets herself to endure her time with her captor, but soon finds that London is a skillful lover, even if his approach is one she would never have chosen willingly. Readers who enjoy a bit of bondage along with erotic romance will really enjoy JEWEL THIEF; a story that combines a believable plot with engaging characters and sensually provocative scenes.

This strange fact, along with the increasing feeling of dread, kept Jessie on guard. There was something inherently eerie about the resort and grounds, particularly the main house. Jessie seemed to be the only one who sensed this, so she decided to keep quiet on the subject, for the sake of peace. Even Andrew, who had always been sensitive to unseen patterns, seemed at ease in their new home.

As their time progresses at Moss River resort, Jessie becomes convinced that her first impression of trouble was true. The problem is, she seems to be the only one who sees that their lives are steadily being taken over by the clannish townspeople of Lost River. Can Jessie save her family from what she's sure is evil, even if they don't want to be saved?

What price would you pay for riches and glory? Is there a price too high? These are the questions put to the characters in H. L. Chandler's THE KEEPERS. With many twists and turns, and perhaps evil lurking around the corners, THE KEEPERS is not a book one easily puts down. I was entranced by this chilling story. Stan always searching for easy money frustrated me on Jessie's behalf. Jessie's determination to stand by her husband was refreshing and in no way made her seem weak willed. If you feel like reading an electrifying thriller where the monster is creeping up behind, then H. L. Chandler's THE KEEPERS is definitely right up your alley.

Will works alongside her in the lab, he has the winning combination of being brilliant and sexy, and often makes an appearance in Joey's dreams. She's trying to work up the courage to ask him out. Joey's courage is soon called upon after she comes upon a secret ritual being performed and she soon finds herself alongside Will fighting for their lives.

Isabella Jordan's LEGION: UNIVERSITY is a fast-paced read, full of action, sex, and creepiness and is a great start for this series. The characters are well drawn out given the short nature of the story and the premise is engaging, leaving this reader anxious to read more from this series.

I didn't put this book down once I began reading it; I had to know how Aubrey and Serena were able to work through their considerable differences so that they may be together. Aubrey, when the clutch of the change is on him, stole my breath. From the first page to the last, THE LION'S LOVER is guaranteed to hold your attention.

This was a very intense book. Jewel and Vince both carry a lot of baggage from their previous relationship. Ms. Ladley uses the past relationship and the fierce sexual chemistry to repair and rebuild the love the two had. I enjoyed that the couple’s passion left them emotionally open to the other.

Angelina Evans uses a prologue that briefly describes the dilemma facing Aviar Darkeen, the Allourian king who needs perfect genetic mates for his heirs in order to keep his planetary empire safe from a vengeful emperor. It seems that "only the resonance of a perfect genetic union can strengthen the Rilirian Field, the force field that protects Darkeen holdings." Most of the world building of this Ellora's Cave Quickie occurs during this brief section.

In a second prologue, the reader is introduced to Sansi, an innocent young woman who ventures into a virtual reality emporium known as Illusions. This well-written and suspenseful section leads to her abduction and sexual slavery by pirates. However, all of that action takes place off-stage, and Sansi, who becomes known as Saeble, a genetic mate for one of the Darkeen dynasty, is lost to her true love, thus setting the stage for MINE TO TAKE.

Some three years later, Traiden Darkeen visits LyKree, a pleasure planet. The reader views the sensual sights of LyKree through Traiden's eyes as he seeks the genetic match that was once recorded in the Illusions databanks. Having waited for quite a long time, Traiden enters the alcove with heightened anticipation, and he is not disappointed. Saeble, who has managed to escape slavery and become a feature attraction on LyKree, awaits him. Traiden and Saeble are made for each other, a perfect match, and the middle section of this story is devoted to a detailed erotic description of each character's physical attributes and prowess. Ironically, Saeble has trouble understanding her intense attraction to a man she just met, but Traiden emphasizes that she was made for him.

Instead of being ready to go with him to seek her true destiny, Saeble is angry, for she would never have had to endure slavery if she hadn't been identified as one of these "perfect genetic mates." Since she won't come willingly, Traiden overcomes this complication by abducting her. The title MINE TO TAKE has, of course, two interpretations, and Traiden takes Saeble in both ways.

While MINE TO TAKE may be a bit short on plot and character development, it has sensual pleasures in abundance. Readers who like their futuristics hot will not be disappointed.

Beth Murray takes her job as a reporter seriously. She grew up in North Maple Ridge and after going away to college, she came back to stay. Even though she's usually just after the story, the string of murders taking place in her hometown are affecting her on a personal level. With someone killing three youths over the past three weeks, and the latest being a cousin of hers, Beth knows that this killer must be caught.

I really enjoyed reading MISFIT IN MIDDLE AMERICA as Mandy M. Roth took a unique approach and wrote this story in the first person. Getting the main character's perspective on what's going on around him was refreshing, particularly because it's a guy's perspective. I also liked Adam's character, and how supportive he is of his son, even though he doesn't understand exactly what is going on with him.

On the land of Zandar, there is an ancient prophecy that states a woman will come to them from the land of Earth and bear the child that will unite their feuding lands. Cheyenne has no clue how one minute she was climbing out of her car and the next she's in a field and a huge barbarian of a man is chasing her. Lord Andreas knows from the moment he sees Cheyenne appear out of nowhere that they are meant to be together, but proving that to her is another story.

I absolutely loved this book. I was glad it was four hundred odd pages. The author created such a believable and realistic world in Zandar, that I almost believed it was a one-dimensional version of Earth. From the moment Darian walked on the scene, he captured my attention. Big, sexy and courageous, the perfect hero. I think Cheyenne's reaction to being mystically transported strikes true. I began to invest more in her character each time she had a break down. I thought it was cleverly planned that the author didn't let Cheyenne's character discover the prophecy until after her relationship with Darian had somewhat been established. And the way in which Darian himself found out she was the woman from their prophecy was absolutely perfect. I loved his take charge, 'I know what's best for you' personality. And just when I thought the couple could never end up together because there were too many obstacles, hope arises.

I loved how the author didn't just drop the bombshell that in order for the two main characters to be together, there would take a great deal of planning and dedication; she built it up and dropped bits and pieces of information here and there. I had inklings and guessed what could happen, but nothing prepared me for the end. Although, I do think it ended rather abruptly, I think that may be attributed to a possible sequel (I hope). Wonderful read!

NATURAL LAW is another wonderfully-told story by Joey W. Hill. The writing is great, and I found the characters so interesting. In particular, I enjoyed that once again my own misconceptions about BDSM were challenged as Ms. Hill portrays a strong alpha male as a submissive, and I love when authors can open my eyes to new areas in the world. Ms. Hill has a knack for creating wonderful characters and incredibly sexy scenes between her characters. Another thing that I loved about this story was that it wasn't just about Violet and Mac finding each other and establishing their relationship, it was also a great murder mystery.

This is a very erotic and funny story. Ms. Mays has created two very memorable characters in Amber and Rusty. They are humorous and lusty. Ms. Mays has a wonderful sense of humor and dialogue that will have you laughing out loud.

FANGS 'N' FOXES - Mardi Ballou

Darnell, the head of a gang of vampires, was not having a good day. A horrible toothache was preventing him from partaking in his normal pleasures and planning his upcoming battle with a rival gang. LaLilia Guitry was unlike any dentist he had ever seen. She was gorgeous and had a very sensual way of killing the pain. When LaLilia tries to convince him to forget about the upcoming battle, Darnell refuses. LaLilia leaves and Darnell realizes too late what he has lost.

Mardi Ballou has created two very strong-willed characters that are fighting the inevitable. LaLilia and Darnell are destined to be together. The passion and emotional bond that the author creates between the main characters is amazing.

FRANNIE 'N' THE PRIVATE DICK - Delilah Devlin

Francesca Valentine was not happy with the turn her life has taken. Waking up to find that she is one of the undead is not exactly a wonderful surprise. But after finding Vinnie and his secretary in the act, Frannie did not know what to do with herself. Niall Keenan, a burly Irishman, is just what she needs to get her mind off of Vinnie. Finding out that Niall is the one who turned her, Frannie decides that he must help her in this new phase of her life.

Frannie and Niall are a lusty couple that will make you laugh out loud. Niall's patience is continually tested by Frannie's outrageous actions. The author has created a wonderful couple that will not be forgotten.

NIBBLES 'N' BITS is a terrific collection of stories about 3 very different vampires. Each author has a vampire that is not like any other. The passion and humor that each author brings out in her story will have you laughing out loud and hating to see the story end. This book is definitely a keeper.

TWELVE NIGHTS OF CHRISTMAS by Treva Harte

Rome Tyler was planning on getting home before the big storm hit, but his plans change when he sees someone stuck up in a tree, and he soon finds himself rescuing a damsel in distress. After an ill-timed gust of wind has them both tumbling to the ground, Rome manages to stay conscious long enough for her to help him inside and then passes out on her bed.

Marigold Adams felt silly enough for getting herself stuck in a tree, and then she finds herself ogling the unconscious man in her bed; a man she discovers who is almost ten years her junior. With a snowstorm trapping them inside, Rome and Mari soon find themselves getting to know each other very quickly. Will the two of them be able to overcome their own self-doubts and turn away from their lives of loneliness?

While a quick read, TWELVE NIGHTS OF CHRISTMAS is an enjoyable one. I liked the characters and the touch of humor used in this story. Treva Harte also did a fine job of exploring the anxieties of both characters as they get to know each other better. Rome's character is particularly endearing as he struggles to figure out the right moves to make on a woman to let her know that he's interested in her.

JINGLE'S BELLE by Lani Aames

Jingle dreams of being somewhere other than Christmastown, somewhere where it's warm and bright. He wouldn't mind Christmastown so much except that none of the other elves like him and that makes working there tougher, especially since he keeps being denied for a particular job just because the elf in charge doesn't like him. Jingle really wanted to work with the reindeers at the stable, but without Zap's approval, it doesn't look like that's going to happen anytime soon. Jingle knows that he doesn't fit in; he's smaller than the other elves, and even his coloring makes him stand out among the paler elves. When he's called to Santa's office the last thing that he's expecting is a special project.

Belinda Cooper is not really in the mood for celebrating Christmas. For her, Christmas is a time of sad memories and since she's alone for yet another year, she's all too willing to let the holiday go by without celebration. Little does Bel know that Santa has noticed that she losing her Christmas spirit and has plans to help her regain it.

This was a charming story and I loved that one of the main characters is one of Santa's elves. I found myself feeling sorry for the poor guy being snubbed by all of his fellow elves and loved that his special assignment turned out to be so interesting and satisfying.

SANTA CLAWS by MaryJanice Davidson

Alec Kilcurt is searching for a mate. After representing his country's werewolves by paying homage to the cute infant who would one day be pack leader, Alec's feelings of loneliness are amplified. While walking through downtown Boston and looking forward to being able to return home, Alec is distracted by the smell of fresh peaches. The smell manages to cut through the other pungent smells of downtown Boston and soon lead Alec to an adorable looking Santa.

Giselle Smith is not sure what to think when a handsome stranger wades his way through pedestrians and traffic to get to her and invites her to lunch. Only after she agrees does he take his leave, but not before leaving thousands of dollars in her Salvation Army bucket. While she doesn't know what he sees in her, after he rescues her from food poisoning, she agrees to stay the night with him. It's up to Alec to convince her that he wants her for more than one night but that he wants her forever.

I loved this story. MaryJanice Davidson's use of humor had me laughing out loud. I loved the interaction between Alex and Giselle and that Giselle is not your typical heroine. Ms. Davidson's style of writing had me so captivated that I would have been quite content to keep reading Alec and Giselle's story.

All three of the stories in NICELY NAUGHTY were well-written and worked well together to make a great anthology. I found each story enjoyable and did not even mind that not all were of the paranormal genre. With this anthology, I've found some more authors to keep an eye out for.

ON THE EDGE OF TIME is a fast-paced, truly engrossing read that will have you laughing, sighing, and most assuredly, will leave you hungry for more. Barbara Karmazin is a wonderfully imaginative writer. With incredibly erotic sex scenes and heart stopping action, anyone who loves a sizzling hot science fiction story will love this book. Cord and Helga are superb together. And while it seems a bit strange to say, the symbiotic serpent Onyx was super hot as well… black scales and all. One word of caution, when you read this story, make sure your significant other is around… you will definitely have need of them by the time you are done.

Aurora Deveraux enjoys the exciting nature of her job. She’s been working at Immortality Incorporated for two years, and is amazed at how her life has changed since her initial interview. It’s not only her job that keeps her life exciting, but also the feelings that her boss stirs up in her. The man can infuriate her one minute, and have her lusting after him the next. The two of them manage to rub each other the wrong way often, as she can hardly count the number of times that she has gotten under his skin, and she knows that there will be more times to come. Aurora’s job as Fate gives her the power to intercede and work towards the right outcome, and when she intercedes on the behalf of a young officer and prevents his death, she has to answer to her boss.

As Time itself, Nic Avalon is less than pleased with some of Aurora’s exploits but when she stops the death of a young man, it’s not an inconsequential change that she’s made, but one which has implications for the future and the flow of time itself. The other Aspects are clamoring for her dismissal and an end to the favoritism that Nic shows her. But Aurora isn’t willing to give up without a fight, and she’s hoping that as Fate, she can help correct her mistakes.

I thoroughly enjoyed ONLY FOR THIS TIME and just loved the premise. I really loved the interplay between the characters in this book, even the subsidiary characters. The intricacies of Aurora and Nic’s work and relationship were well developed and I found myself caught up in the book wondering if Aurora would achieve her goal, would Nic and her get together and could they make it work? Lynn Warren did such a wonderful job with this book and kept me captivated throughout.

After not finding much information during his initial research, Tony is surprised when confronted with a gorgeous woman who has the whole package, brains and beauty.

From the first page, I was drawn into this story and just could not put it down. I loved the vulnerabilities of the characters, and their explorations as they set about creating new and pleasurable sexual mental associations for Morgan. I really liked that this story was full of so many things: interesting characters, an awesome setting, character growth and inherent sensuality that underlined the entire book. This is such a well-written story and I'm really looking forward to reading more from this prolific author.

Mandy M. Roth has once again made me a very happy and satisfied reader. She writes with so much emotion, I found myself in tears as Mackenzie struggled with her love for both men. The chemistry between Mackenzie and Cedric, as well as her and Rowan, was red-hot and the emotions, deeply moving. Vivid descriptions transport the reader into the imaginative world of Faeries and magic, and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip. If you are looking for a wonderfully written paranormal that will blow you socks off, as well as steam up the windows, you will definitely want to read Ms. Roth’s Peace Offerings series. I anxiously… and not too patiently … await the next chapter in the lives of these three intriguing people.

Tyler Parton never expected to meet someone like Jana and certainly on one of the worst days of his life. With the classic good vs. evil fight as the background for this book, Protector is a great read. This one had me up late because I couldn't bear to put it down. I really liked the storyline, not only because of all the super soldiers, but also because Holly is portrayed as a strong, smart woman. Lisa Renee Jones' writing style also made this an enjoyable read and has me waiting anxiously for other tales of super soldiers.

Cody appreciates the happiness that Emerald has brought into his and Jason's life, but is afraid it will soon come to an end.

PUPPY LOVE is a very sweet romance. Emerald and Cody find love is sweet the second time around. The author has a wonderful sense of dialogue that keeps the story moving. The relationship between the main characters develops quickly, but is believable. The author demonstrates that sometimes a relationship is just right from the offset.

TWICE BLESSED by Rachel Bo

While TWICE BLESSED may push boundaries for some readers, Rachel Bo has delivered a well-written story with wonderful characters and an awesome premise. Some of the scenes between Jenny and the twins are so well done that readers may be panting for more.

Dan and Ty might be able to help Suzi with her Christmas surprise for Valerie.

With HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, Stephanie Vaughan has written an interesting story, complete with some great scenes and exotic bondage play.

CHRISTMAS NOIR by Barbara Karmazin

Someone is targeting hermaphrodites and Shannon MacNal has been sent a message that she's next. As part of an enclave of hermaphrodites and head of the Herm foundation, Shannon is used to living in fear for her safety. There are many who see Shannon and the others as abominations; but someone is taking it farther and killing hermaphrodites, rather than just protesting against them.

Detectives Tannamae Jones and Fergus DeSoto are sent to respond to the murder of one of Shannon's friends, a fellow hermaphrodite. Shannon's call is what led them to the victim's apartment after she is sent the message and some disturbing photos. With the presence of a threat to Shannon, it is mandatory for both detectives to stay with her at her home in order to assure her safety. The detectives are prepared to put a hold on their relationship for the assignment, but they are surprised at how difficult it is as Shannon raises their sexual awareness of each other and of her.

With CHRISTMAS NOIR Barbara Karmazin has written a great story. There are so many elements of this story that I really enjoyed; a good murder mystery, a futuristic setting, and I also thought that it was a wonderful exploration into the world of hermaphrodites, with many of the difficulties that can be encountered.

All three of the stories in RATED: XMAS are very interesting reads, each exploring different subjects and giving the reader much to sit back and think about. The rating of Scorching is well deserved as these ladies not only heat up the pages, their awesome writing also includes some areas that readers may, at first glance, consider taboo. I enjoyed this anthology quite a bit and would definitely like to see more from these individual authors.

I love the Rutledge werewolf series. The Rutledge brothers are all sexy, macho men. A perfect setup for the main male character to be brought down by a feisty woman. Mary is feisty and inquisitive. I couldn't believe she didn't just dismiss the email as the rantings of some overworked security executive. I was surprised and excited when she decided to fly down to Dominic's town and see if his claiming to be a werewolf was true. I knew she had to be a unique woman to have enough courage to do something like that. I love the way the author pairs the main male character with his perfect match. Dominic is cynical and jaded, he needs something or someone to break him out, and Mary is it. I love the chase between the two. Great read!

He isn't in any rush, but when he stumbles upon Chloe trying to break into his cabin, all bets are off.

I couldn't wait to read Samuel's story. I've read all the other previous Rutledge stories and I have to say I was anticipating Samuel falling. I wasn't sure how the author was going to make his story stand out from the other three stories. All I have to say is, the get to know you game was a great touch. I found myself anticipating and holding my breath on what the next question would be. I found it a breath of fresh air that Chloe didn't just fall into bed with Samuel. Some of the other books in the series started with the two main characters having already reached the sexual part of their relationship. In this case, I enjoyed the tension and the get to know you period Chloe and Samuel went through. In this story, it would've been incredibly easy to forget about Chloe's search for direction in her life. I was pleased to see that towards the end, she found her niche and it just so happened that Samuel helped.

This story falls right in with the zombie craze that's sweeping the world. I loved how the Fae sent Enigma in to save this fallen city. As I started reading the story, I compared Anna to Alice from Resident Evil, but the more I read, the more I realized they were nothing alike. Yes, they were both strong women bent on survival, but where Alice's character was a warrior, Anna was an ordinary woman just trying to stay alive. Quickie stories have to be chock full of details, details and more details or the reader will fill like she was missing something. The author did a great job on drawing a colorful picture on what was happened and what had happened in the city. She didn't bother with frivolous details, but kept the story going scene after scene, not once slowing down the pace or the adventure. It was a different spin on the zombie subject, for the real cause of the walking dead was an ancient evil. Priceless! Great read!

It's 2004 and Christina wishes men were more like warriors of the past. Its 1320 and Christiana wishes men were more gentle. A shooting star and fervent wishes from these two women lead to a time-traveling switch.

I could not wait to read how the switch between these two women would work. I also loved the way the author made a slight difference between these two female characters. And because their names were so much alike, it was imperative that there be some kind of individualism between the two. I think it was a good touch to make Christina and Christiana character opposites. Christina was an independent, freethinking woman and Christiana was an obedient, passive woman who was raised in a convent. I was eager to see the Scottish warrior's response to Christina and vice versa with Christiana. The only problem I had was that I wished the story were longer so I could find out more about how they settled into their new lives.

Her partner is Zane Spinella and their cover story is that they are a fabulously wealthy couple who are eloping in Puerto Azul. Ludwig Haan offered to host their wedding at his estate.

Since Haan is the chief suspect in the theft, Zane agrees to his offer. On the way to Haan's estate, they are held up by El Jaguar. Their limo is forced off the road by his gang. He steals her fake engagement ring as a way to finance his operations; he takes Zane's money, but leaves Keira's.

Haan insists on replacing the lost ring with one of his own. Keira looks into the ring and is transfixed. She comes to herself after walking several hours into the jungle. She has no memory of how she got to the clearing she is at, but finds several interesting phallic stones in a circle, each depicting various sexual interactions. Despite her fear, the archaeologist in her takes over and she examines the stones carefully.

In the meantime, Zane is desperately searching for her. A nasty storm is approaching and the rumors of a werejaguar leave him fearing for her safety. He catches up to her just in time and they pitch a tent in the middle of the stones to protect them from lightening. They are in serious lust and something about the stones makes them unable to fight it any longer. They make love and then they are approached by El Jaguar. He takes them to his camp and tells Zane privately that they were in the Breeding Circle, a sacred place for their people.

Zane and Keira have to come to terms with their mistrust for each other, mingled with lust and the stirrings of love. Dealing with the stolen artifact and the villainous Haan keeps things hopping.

I recommend this novel to others. The paranormal aspects were not overwhelming, so those who like those types of stories might be a bit disappointed. The relationship between Zane and Keira develops in a realistic fashion; the suspense is taut and well developed.

Samantha Houston is good at what she does, so it comes as no surprise when a renowned family of vampires opts to hire her to protect them. But what she doesn’t count on is being pulled into a dangerous attraction between her and one dangerous vampire.

This story was hot from page one. The chemistry between Samantha and Sion is electric. The minute he walks into her office my screen erupted in flames. Its one thing to imagine underlying sexual tension in a scene, but to actually feel it says great things about the author. I wanted to walk out of my own living room, I felt like such a voyeur. The action and suspense combined with the paranormal and supernatural boosts this story out of the ordinary and into extraordinary. Samantha’s character was smart, sassy and fearless and Sion’s character was dark, dangerous and innately sex incarnate. The author did a terrific job building her characters and setting them up in situations where they would shine through. Great read!

Maddie Woodbridge Harris is a model of propriety. The assistant principal at Beaver Cove High School in Beaver Cove, Arkansas is expected to maintain dignity and appropriate behavior at all times. Phil has a lot to make up to her and dealing with his ex-wife, Pam, isn't making it any easier. After his ex refuses to let him see Melissa, he heads to the lake to fish, never knowing he's going to catch a beautiful stranger. When he wakes up the next morning, she's gone, and he has no idea who she is, it was dark and he never saw her face.

As Maddie and Phil start to deal with each other at school, sparks fly. Maddie sees Phil as a pain in the neck and Phil thinks Maddie is too prissy. Maddie is getting more and more stressed out and decides jogging will help her cope. Phil has come to the same conclusion for himself and they meet up at the track. They develop an armed truce, and then respect for each other. When they start to date, Pam throws her wrench into the situation. She threatens to move away and keep Melissa away from Phil forever.

Randy Bailey is the high school drama teacher and Maddie's best friend. He is very quietly gay and knows that coming out of the closet could cost him his job. He's the caregiver for his invalid mother and has been since he was a child. After a bad breakup, he steps in to help Maddie.

Untangling all the threads of the story is a work of art and Dana Taylor has done it beautifully. She described it as quirky and it is. This is not a typical romance novel and is all the better for it. The things that happen seem as if they could happen in real life. The characters are human; they make mistakes, try to cover them up, and have to deal with the mess they've made. THAT DEVIL MOON is worth every minute of time it takes to read.

Two of her colleagues from the university demand to see her house in order to meet him. As a result, Annie discovers she has possessive feelings about Kevin. Annie has little experience with men, and believes herself of average looks. She teaches Victorian literature at the university, and talks with Kevin about the books she loves. She is self-effacing, and proper at all times.

Kevin Turner is a construction worker with a big secret. He is shocked when Annie talks to him about literature and accepts his comments with interest. After they discuss Jane Eyre, he gets a copy of it on tape and listens to it. He decides that he is not good enough for Annie, she outclasses him. But he gathers up his courage and makes a move on her anyway.

Both Kevin and Annie are shocked by the intensity of their passion. The love scenes are hot, and are integral to the story. Annie is older than Kevin, and thus believes nothing permanent can come from their affair.

Treva Harte has crafted an interesting tale of two people who though very different, couldn’t be more perfect for each other. As I read, I had difficulty stopping, as I was so absorbed in the book. I haven’t read the first three Time Series books, and plan to remedy that very soon. I recommend this to someone who likes it hot!

Ellie Shaw learned all she could about Brady when her cousin Claire started dating him, wanting to be prepared in case Claire every brought him to meet her, and found that she really enjoyed his music and daydreamed about him. After Claire tells her about their breakup, Ellie is somewhat letdown, as it means that she can't live vicariously through Claire's relationship with the rock star anymore. One day while shopping, she spots a man who is the spitting image of Brady Garriston, but he introduces himself as Gary Stone and soon Ellie finds herself involved in the type of relationship that she'd been looking for.

TRUTH OR DARE was definitely an interesting read as Ellie and Brady explore each other and as Brady indulges Ellie's want of new experiences. The reader is warned that there are some same sex encounters and these could be off-putting to some readers. For the most part this was an enjoyable read, particularly after Ellie and Brady get together. I did like that Brady seemed to evolve somewhat from just some guy constantly thinking about sex, to someone who wanted to be in a committed relationship, and only obsessing about sex with that person.

LADY'S CHOICE by Cricket Starr

When Jackon spots another woman who he claims is "the one," Gehon is justifiably skeptical. Jackon persuades him by claiming that he can smell her and when Gehon turns to look at her, he finds that he too can smell her, which could be a problem. As Zelion men, they are only fertile with their true mate and they think that they have found her.

Lija wasn't sure what to expect when two strange men approach her table, but finds herself attracted to them and figures that at least one of them will do nicely for her final fling before settling down. Lija isn't really looking forward to the marriage, but knows that it is time. She is having a hard time choosing which man she wants for her final act of freedom and soon finds the men competing for her attention as both want to claim her as a true mate.

Action, hunky men and space travel, oh my. This story was interesting not only by the interactions between the characters, but I also loved the idea of the "true" mate.

AND BEST FRIEND MAKES THREE by Lynn LaFleur

Brenna West is looking forward to celebrating her anniversary with her lover, Eric McFarland. They have been together for a year, and Brenna has known from their first day together that she was falling in love with him. After being away from him for a few days, Brenna has planned a special weekend for them to celebrate. She knows that Eric has missed her over the past few days, as he engages her in a little phone play when she makes him wait for their date.

While still recovering from their conversation, Eric is pleased to receive a call from his old buddy, Keith Dillard. With months having passed since last talking to his friend, Eric knows that Keith's job as a foreign correspondent is a hectic and dangerous one. After making plans to get together when Keith comes to town, Eric remembers fondly their college days, their "wilder" days. Eric remembers one night in particular and after Keith jokingly mentions it, Eric starts to think about it. Initially Eric isn't willing to share Brenna, but as he thinks about it, he knows that it's something that he wants to act out again, this time with the woman he loves.

I thought that this story was really well written and I loved how Lynn LaFleur emphasized how strong the relationship between Brenna and Eric is, and how adventurous they have been together.

SAVING SARAH by Michele R. Bardsley

Sarah and Ben Slatterly have been struggling over the past year to recover from a tragedy that had almost destroyed them. Ben is desperate when he makes an appointment with a therapist. He is hoping that following her orders will work for his marriage and bring his wife back to him. Ben tells his wife that he's sending her to a retreat as an anniversary present and sends her on ahead. Sarah loves the simplicity that she finds at the retreat and is surprised at the sense of peace that she feels there. She's even more surprised when she feels the first stirrings of passion that she has been without for the past year.

While she is frightened by her fantasies at first, expecting them to take a turn for the worse, Sarah comes to enjoy the experiences. The pleasure that she receives from her fantasy man gives her hope for her relationship with Ben. Sarah doesn't know that her fantasy man is actually a lost soul hoping for redemption by working through the problems that are plaguing Ben and Sarah. With the help of this handsome ghost Ben and Sarah have a chance to reconnect, as long as the evil that plagued them a year ago doesn't get a chance for revenge.

I found this story very moving; it even brought me to tears at some points. Michele R. Bardsley did a wonderful job with her contribution to this anthology.

Each story in TWO MEN AND A LADY was unique and I enjoyed each of them. I loved the differences in each story while they maintained a common theme. These authors wrote engaging tales and appealed to me on so many levels, I really enjoyed this anthology.

What can I say but…WOW!! I am new to the stories of Mandy Roth, but you can believe that I will not miss another story by this incredible author. I knew this was the second in her Vampyre Productions series, but figured that since it was actually a prequel, I could read it without getting the first book, VAMPYRE PRODUCTIONS 1: THE VALKYRIE. Well, half way through the book, I was running for my computer to buy the first one. Then I promptly devoured it and the rest of VALHALLA: THE VALKYRIE BEGINNINGS in one sitting. I was so into this story that I was blissfully unaware of my numb tush and messy house. The men in this series ROCK. With sex appeal galore, each one is sure to send the reader in search of some much needed satisfaction. Linnea, aka Valerie, is a wonderfully intense and complex character. The world she lives in comes to life through the writings of Ms. Roth. I highly recommend this story, and you can bet that this is one that I will read again and again. Now, a note to Ms. Roth… When can we have more!

Zane tells her that she has to decide if she is willing to submit all control to him. He reminds her repeatedly that once she submits, there will be no going back. He also tells her that he wants to move back to Texas to be closer to his family and if they take this step, he'll expect her to come with him.

Maggie Casper has written an engaging novella showing the importance of open communication between couples. Rena is apprehensive about what Zane will want from her, but is able to trust that he won't go beyond her limits. Zane promises to push, but gives her a safe word. He realizes that Rena is the one with the power in their relationship and it's ok with him. As long as she submits, he'll be happy. Because Zane is introducing Rena to submission ZANE'S WAY, the scenes are light though they build in intensity. For readers of BDSM, ZANE'S WAY is a fun read. The book includes spanking and anal play, so readers who find this distasteful should be aware.

Not only is he a junior engineer, and far too tall, but he is also years younger than her. Even while she tells herself that he's not perfect, Sara can't help the direction her thoughts take when she looks at him, and at his beautiful large hands. She's trying to keep her distance, although it's hard when she's working with him day to day and, as he seems determined to attract and keep her attention.

Zeke definitely wants Sara's attention. He wants her to stop looking at him like he's a kid and he wants the chance to show her just how hot he thinks she is. Working closely with her on the job, Zeke gets the chance to get closer to Sara and a chance to witness her reckless behavior up close and personal. He doesn't understand why she takes the risks that she does, but he wants to discover the reason before she goes too far and he loses her for good.

With the double entendres flying between Sara and Zeke, I found myself really enjoying the interplay between these two characters. The buildup of sexual tension between these characters was well written, as were the scenes when these two actually got together. After getting caught up with Sara and Zeke's story, I was left wanting more from these two and wishing that there were another chapter or two of ZEKE'S HANDS.
