Master Nage is a real life Master, practicing D/s (Dominance/submission) since 1992. He moved to Hobart Tasmania in 2003 to be with his slave dana, whom he subsequently married.

Master Nage writes full time. When he’s not writing, he’s a movie buff, a fantasy fan, an origami enthusiast, an amateur entomologist and a pretty nice guy (though not necessarily all at the same time).

SR: Welcome to Sizzling Romances. Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions. Tell us about your latest release.

MN: Slave Heart is a contemporary, paranormal, BDSM, erotic mystery romance. Sandra Castilla, a New Yorker who has never done a brave thing in her life, finds herself investigating the disappearance of her sister. Her search brings her face to face with the Taleans, a BDSM underground, a side of the lifestyle most people never know exists. Her determination to learn the truth about her sister’s fate leads her deeper and deeper into the ranks of the Taleans. But as dangerous as it is, nothing can prepare her for Nicco, a man she finds herself drawn to in ways she doesn’t understand. If only she could be sure he wasn’t responsible for her sister’s disappearance.

SR: How did the idea for this story come about?

MN: I’d wanted to write a romance for a long time, but wanted my story to be something very different as well. I liked the idea of a male author writing a story from a woman’s point of view, in the first person. I liked the idea of her investigating a murder. And I felt I had to show a more realistic BDSM world than is offered in most books. It all gelled into Slave Heart. Don’t let the BDSM fool you, Slave Heart is a romance through and through.

SR: What did you enjoy writing about this story and why?

MN: This is by far the most psychological book I’ve ever written. It probably has the most sexual tension too. I loved the way it builds so slowly, almost like a love-making experience. Prolonging the tension was tremendous fun for me, particularly since I was writing from the woman’s point of view. A lot of women were blown away that I could get so into the mind of a submissive woman. I also loved being able to slip some of my personal philosophy about BDSM in there.

SR: Tell us about any upcoming releases.

MN: My next erotica release will be the sequel to Scorch, which is all in my head, but has yet to be written. Should take a few months. Due to the phenomenal popularity of Scorch, I’m sure it will do well. In the first book, Frank Aston and Lady Jacqueline take on Baron Ceston on the planet Ballista. Scorch 2 brings them to Earth to challenge the Emperor himself. Cynna and General Richards’ story will finally be told as well. It’s a romance a lot of Scorch fans have asked about.

SR: What do you want readers to come away with after reading one of your books?

MN: I write to entertain. That’s my primary purpose. Obviously, when I’m writing erotica, it’s to titillate as well (no pun intended). My stories start dark, but are never completely dark. No matter how much tension I build, I love to leave people with a feeling of euphoria. It’s a great source of pride to me that so many who have read Slave Heart cried at the end. And so many people have read it a second and even a third time.

SR: What are you working on now?

MN: My current book is a nonfiction work called The Cup and the Bucket: A Workbook for Life, which combines Eastern philosophy, the Tarot and some good old common sense into a book that will hopefully show how I see the world. The people who’ve seen the prerelease version have all found it has helped them to see things from a different perspective, and left them more relaxed and content. The idea my writing can be more than just entertainment is very appealing to me. If I can just help one person, it will all be worth it.
