Born to an Air Force family at an Army hospital, Melissa has always been a little screwy. She was further warped by her years of watching Monty Python movies and her strange family. From the time she read To Kill a Mockingbird in the seventh grade, she dreamed of being a writer. After years of struggling, trying to write short stories filled with angst, she finally listen to her college writing instructor and allowed her natural comedic voice to shine through.

She is a military wife and mother of two military brats and an adopted dog daughter, and lives wherever the military sticks them. Which, she is sure, will involve heat and bugs only seen on the Animal Discovery Channel. In her spare time, she reads, cooks, read, travels, reads some more, and dreams of living somewhere the bugs die in winter.

SR: Welcome to Sizzling Romances. Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions. Tell us about your latest release.

MS: Thank you for having me! A CALCULATED SEDUCTION is my second Whiskey Creek Press Release. Dulcy Menendez doesn’t trust Ethan MacMillan when he takes over his uncle’s company, and she has good reason. Because unknown to her, he is investigating her for embezzling. Ethan thinks to seduce her secrets out of her, stopping short of taking her to bed. A determined Dulcy, and a limo ride, and Ethan decides between his heart and his mind. When the sun rises the next morning, the truth is revealed leaving them with one question: What do they do when they find themselves in love with a person they can’t trust?

SR: How did the idea for this story come about?

MS: Well, I have a brother-in-law who works for a boot manufacturer in their computer department. I just thought it would be neat to have a story set in the executive branch. And, I needed a reason for Ethan to be there, so I came up with the embezzlement idea.

SR: Did you enjoy writing about this story and why?

MS: Yeah I did. When I wrote it, we were stationed in Hawaii, but we call Texas home. It was fun to write about my home state. Plus, I think this is one of my funnier books. I really had a good time torturing Ethan and Dulcy.

SR: Tell us about any upcoming releases.

MS: HARD HABIT TO BREAK for Loose Id is my next release. It is the last of the Federation CTD books continuing the story of VOICES CARRY and LOST IN EMOTION. That should be out in January. In February, I have a St Patty’s Day anthology being released from Loose Id entitled CHARMING THE SNAKE. I was honored that they asked me because Camille Anthony and MaryJanice Davidson are the other two authors.

SR: What do you want readers to come away with after reading one of your books?

MS: Mainly a sense of enjoyment. I have read books that I finished because I was a masochist and refused to give up on it. But, I want my readers to really enjoy themselves. If they like laughing, intrigue, or really hot sex, I want them to escape into my world for just a little while and enjoy themselves.

SR: What are you working on now?

MS: Well, I have just started working on a new futuristic series about bounty hunters. That is for ebooks but I have some other things in the works that I am pitching to print. HOOK, LINE AND SINKER, a contemporary about an older woman, a younger man, and an ex floating in the lake. I also have a series planned with three friends: THE SEX DIET CHRONICLES, SEDUCTION OF A RENEGADE and LOVE WITH AN IMPROPER STRANGER.
