Author Bio:

Catherine lives in Port Perry, Ontario with her husband, rottweiler, and cat, but has dreams of moving to the country and having a horse, cow, goat, and any other animal that may appear. She and her husband, Fred, own and operate a martial arts and wellness centre that keeps them both busy. She is a second-degree black belt in karate, has studied Tai Chi for many years and is proficient in various weapons, both Japanese and Chinese. Her hobbies include photography, kayaking, archery, horseback riding, reading, and hiking. Of course, finding time for all these activities can sometimes be a little difficult.

SR: Welcome to Sizzling Romances. Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions. Tell us about your latest release.

CAC: SWORD ACROSS TIME is a mythical romance that tells of the legendary realm of Avalon disappearing into the mist, and leaving behind a powerful and dangerous legacy. A legacy of curses invoked in the heat of anger and passion. Over the centuries the words have faded to a mere whisper, yet their power remains strong—and deadly. Now, the descendants of Merlin the Magician and the Lady of the Lake must deal with the repercussions of long ago betrayals.

The danger ensues when Gavin and Tamara discover journals written by their ancestors and embark on a search for the truth. Thrust together by Fate and caught in circumstances beyond their control, the two find themselves attracted to, yet frustrated by, each other.

The Dark Lady, Morganna, half-sister to King Arthur, seeks to destroy Merlin and the Lady of the Lake forever by claiming the Sword Excalibur with its powerful forces for herself. Unaware that a blood sacrifice is needed to activate the power of the sword, Gavin and Tamara find themselves in a race against evil in order to defeat Morganna—and save themselves.

SR: How did the idea for this story come about?

CAC: I’ve always loved Arthurian mythology and have done a lot of reading on the subject. One day I just sat down and started to write the story. I had no outline and no idea of where the story was headed. The characters and legends evolved as I wrote.

SR: What did you enjoy writing about this story and why?

CAC: I enjoyed the research. I also enjoyed taking Tamara, who is so logical, and putting her in situations that made her question her beliefs. Of course, I loved writing about the love story between Merlin and the Lady of the Lake, Nimue. It also gave me the chance to touch on the Wiccan beliefs as well, which also made for interesting research.

SR: Tell us about any upcoming releases.

CAC: I have no pending for release at the moment. Although I have two manuscripts completed and am querying agents and publishers for both of them. SWEET DREAMS IN A SMALL TOWN is a romance inspired by the filming of the movie Welcome to Mooseport in my hometown. I found that people act very strange when there are famous people around and thought this would be a great premise for a book. Also, BEYOND THE FAERIE REALM, a fantasy that has somehow turned into two books. I’ve finished the first book and am about to begin the second.

SR: What do you want readers to come away with after reading one of your books?

CAC: My books always have a happy ending. With all the violence, upheaval and uncertainty in the world today, I want people to finish my books and feel good, if even for a short time. I think it’s important to put some positive energy into the world to counter the negative.

SR: What are you working on now?

CAC: I have just written three short stories and am about to start the second book of my fantasy series, BEYOND THE FAERIE REALM.

SR: Please list your publishers here.

CAC: My publisher is Treble Heart Books.
